Please help us restore Russ's smile!
In 2022, Russ was diagnosed with stage 4 laryngeal cancer. Before he could begin treatment, most of his teeth had to be removed. He had to get a tracheostomy. Chemo took a toll on him. The radiation treatment left permanent damage to his neck and jaw, but thankfully, put his cancer in remission! For a while all his nutrition came from a tube directly to his stomach. Now that he's recovered some more, with a lot of concentration, he is able to drink and eat. But there's two things he can't really do anymore--chew and smile.
Russ has 9 teeth left, and one of them is broken. They'll all need to be pulled. The process takes several months, involves multiple oral surgeries, and comes out to a grand total of $13,000. With a set of new teeth, he'll have a much easier time eating, speaking, and smiling like he used to.
Anyone who knows Russ knows how much he loves animals. Any donations surpassing the $13,000 goal will be donated to the Humane Society of El Paso.
