Help Restore Priest's Family Business after Fire!

Donation protected
Short version:

At around 1 am on February 12th, my sister and her husband’s (Rebekah and Fr. Dimitri Kulp)  workshop burned to the ground. Thankfully their neighbor saw the flames, called 911 and came to wake up the family.

This workshop was used to run their two businesses - St. Johns Workshop (high-quality woodworking) and Golden Mouth Roastery (fair trade coffee).

Inside the building, there was machinery, tools, supplies, and orders in progress. All of which were lost.

The insurance is covering $150,000 in damages. Unfortunately, that still leaves them $85,000 short of what they need to replace everything. Many orders will have to be remade or refunded, they will need to buy all new equipment and will have to rebuild.

This has been a really difficult time for them, losing both of their sources of income overnight. Although it will be a hard time going forward they have faith in God and will continue trust in Him.

Please keep the Kulp family (Fr. Dimitri, Rebekah, Anastazi, Eleni and Romanus) in your prayers! And if you are able to, please consider donating!

Thank you in advance!

Longer Version:

In the frigid morning hours of February 12th,  the workshop of Father Dimitri Kulp and his family burned to the ground. Imagine the shock and trauma of hearing pounding on your door at one in the morning, only to look out the window and see flames shooting from the nearby workshop, the source of your livelihood.  A neighbor saw the flames and called 911 and then ran over to wake the family.

Father Dimitri is a priest with the Russian Church outside of Russia and serves with his father, Priest Thomas, in Blue River, Wisconsin.  Father Dimitri and his wife Rebekah run two businesses, one that provides high quality, traditional plastered wood panels for iconographers and the other that provides freshly roasted organic and fair trade coffee to their appreciative customers. For more than ten years they have carefully honed their expertise, the quality of their products, and their customer base,  they became known for excellent customer service, the expert care with which they produced their lovely icon boards, and later, for the high quality of their coffee.  In order to do all this, they gradually fitted out a workshop with machinery, tools, supplies, and orders-in-progress, worth more than $230,000.

The family and their house were preserved, thank God, although their beloved cat, Myra, perished in the blaze.  The amount of loss is incredible... two businesses gone in almost the blink of an eye.  Father Dimitri and Rebekah have the will and the need to rebuild, but insurance only covered $50,000 for a building that is likely to cost twice that and $100,000 for the tools and supplies valued at over $130,000.  In addition, the orders in progress have to be canceled and refunded, and the previously purchased and stored hand-made coffins need to be either remade or refunded.

Fr. Dimitri, Rebekah, and their children Anastazi, Eleni, and little Romanus need your help. A fire is traumatic no matter what, but this fire destroyed their means of income. They need to cover the $85,000+ shortfall which will help them get back on their feet.

We ask your prayers for everyone involved, but also ask if, of your charity, you could contribute to this clergy family's present need and help them rebuild.  There are so many hidden costs when there is such a catastrophe... little things that aren't even thought of until the need arises, in addition to everyday expenses during the transition.  In return, you will be remembered in their prayers.

Thanking you in advance, we ask God's blessing on each and everyone who has read this appeal.
