Help Over the River Farm Recover from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Over the River Farm is so incredibly humbled and grateful for the support received from the horse community, barn family and friends, and others following Hurricane Helene's devastation. Because of this support, the first phase of recovery is nearing completion! Horses have returned home, one permanent pasture was cleared and fenced, two temporary paddocks are up, and the flooded land was graded and re-seeded so that horses can hopefully return to their permanent pastures soon.
The farm has come an unbelievably long way--but for anyone interested in helping, support for recovery is still very much needed! Like the rest of the region, full recovery will be a long-term process, and significant work is ongoing to complete repairs and ensure that the farm is safe for the horses now, and into the future. Additional funds can help with:
- Re-fencing the worst-affected 8 acres of pasture as soon as possible,
- Replacing ring footing and gravel for the driveway,
- Hiring a track hoe to clear culverts, and eventually -
- Constructing stalls/barn space on higher ground in case of future storms.
Donations will also help support our amazing barn owner and trainer, as she and her husband continue working to recover their home on the property that was also seriously damaged by flooding.
We are so, so grateful for ALL of the support to date, and ANY contributions towards continued recovery. THANK YOU to this amazing community.
