I'm reaching out because my family's home was severely damaged by a storm in May 2024. At 76 years old, I am facing surgery and have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. My family—my son and two grandchildren—have been by my side through it all. Right now, my son is the only one able to work, and we've been living in a motel since the storm, but we can no longer afford to stay there.
