On May 10th, 2024, a devastating storm forced my family and me out of our home. Since then, we have been living in hotels, trying to find stability and a safe place to call our own. There are four of us—my son, my granddaughter, my grandson, and myself. At 76 years old, I am unable to work, and my son is the only one able to support our family.

Our situation became even more difficult when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The emotional and financial strain has been overwhelming, and we are struggling to keep up with the costs of temporary housing, daily expenses, and the hope of restoring our home. My son works hard to provide for us, but it is not enough to cover everything we need.
