Help Restore Our Home After Truck Accident

Hello friends, once again we have an ask. As you may recall, in January there was an accident outside our house. While this is not at all uncommon, this time the rear end of a pick-up truck was launched into our dining room (there were no tire tracks on the lawn except those from the tow truck which picked it up; it was airborne!) Andy was only a few feet away, but aside from being shaken - we all were - he is fine. Nor did we lose any of our 5 indoor-only cats.

After much discussion with insurance and our wonderful friends at Priority One Restoration services (huge thanks to them for the quick board up job), including packing up everything and abating the asbestos found in the dining room ceiling, we are finally ready to move on with the physical rehab of the house. The good news is we do not have to move 4 adults, 5 cats and a fish. The bad news is we have to pay our deductible up front to get things going. And, due to a change in CT state law, it recently went from $500 to well more than $3k. We just don't have it. :(
