As many of you know cities throughout BC have been hit with severe flooding in the last week. One of the hardest hit areas was the Sumas Prairie region of Abbotsford, BC. The flooding there has been extensive and has left many families scrambling to recover from devastating personal loss. My parents (the St. Jean's), grandparents (the Unruh's) and aunt and uncles (the Wilbrink's) homes and farm sits at the lowest point of what used to be Sumas Lake and were greatly impacted by the flood waters. For the past several days their homes have been submerged in approximately 8 feet of water and the damage has been catastrophic. We know that the rebuilding process will be long and difficult. At this point we are asking for your help as we prepare for the work ahead of us.
All of your generous donations will go towards
* replacing farm equipment
* repairing and rebuilding three family homes
* repairing and rebuilding barns and animal pens
* cleaning up our property
* replacing furniture, appliances and other necessary items
The repair and rebuild will cost several hundred thousand dollars and we would be eternally grateful for any support you could offer in this time of crisis.
