Hello! We are a small church in Glendale, CA that dates back to the oldest German church in Los Angeles. Our founders started in Downtown LA when it was a small town with no skyscrapers. We watched as the city grew around us and stretched to the ocean, and raised generations of doctors, engineers, lawyers, and performers. At one point, we had over 200 members. Our children spoke English and German, and soon friends of other backgrounds joined us. In the 1990s, we moved to Glendale where we continue our missions of food ministry, empowering young people, and robust Christian study. We were proud of our story and commitment to making our community a better place, and we have been blessed with 150 years of history.
Over time, our numbers have dwindled. Families have moved out of LA, and we've seen a lot of older memories enter the Church to be with their Father. We've had to make adjustments to ensure our story continues, so we rented out a few apartment units across the street to keep our finances healthy. After the last 20 years, these apartments are empty and are in need of $60,000 worth of repairs. We need to raise the money so that more generations can hear stories about Carl Zahn, Barbara Reiche, Daniel Schick, Mother Sieppert, Wolfgang Knauss, Käthie van Houten, Romel Gharagedaghi, Walter Burrier, Ursula Schmidt, Stephan Schmidt, Gritt Klein, Frauke Hormann, Petra Schurmann, and countless others.
