Help Restore Our Cherished Climbing Sculpture

Tax deductible
For over fifty years, our preschool’s climbing sculpture has taken center stage in our playground — a place where imaginations have run wild, friendships have formed, and childhood memories have been made. Built in the 1970s by a local artist, this one-of-a-kind structure has been more than just a piece of playground equipment — it’s been a gathering place, a rocket ship, a mountain, a dragon, a home, and a constant companion in the world of pretend play.

Generations of children have climbed, balanced, and dreamed atop its winding curves. It has become a symbol of creativity, resilience, and the joyful spirit that defines our school’s culture.

But after decades of love and play, the sculpture has finally reached a point where it is no longer safe for our children to use. We recently had an assessment done, and the good news is that a full restoration is possible. With some expert care and community effort, we can bring it back to life — stronger, safer, and ready to inspire new generations.

A small but dedicated team — Ed, our Facility Maintenance Manager, Jeff, the son of the original artist, and a group of passionate volunteers — have come together to lead the restoration. All we need now is your help to raise $2,500 to fund the repairs.

Every dollar will go directly toward materials, supplies, and professional restoration support. If we exceed our goal, any additional funds will be used to enhance and improve other playground equipment and outdoor play spaces.

This sculpture is part of our story — part of what makes our school feel like home to so many. By pitching in, even a small amount, you’ll be helping us preserve a piece of history and ensure that children can continue climbing, pretending, and creating memories for decades to come.

Let’s come together, as generations of families have before us, to restore this prominent piece of our playground.

Thank you for being part of our community — past, present, and future.
