We bought a childhood dream! As a little girl, I dreamed of owning my own dance studio. I danced all through high school and college and even passed down my love for dance to my children. One daughter graduated from college in Dance Pedagogy and another is soon to graduate in Dance Choreography and Performance.
The opportunity to purchase the dance studio my children grew up with (known as Discovery School of Dance) came to us much sooner than we planned and was with divine intervention! We had only 45 days from signing the papers to opening for business as Danceworx Academy and Yoga Studio in Salem, Oregon. Now, a year later, after sacrificing family trips, eating out, movies, and all other "extras", we saved up enough for the down payment and closed on the purchase of the dance studio on July 1st! The 1946 building was converted to a dance studio 40 years ago and is in much need of repairs.
We are trying to raise enough money for the following:
1. Exterior and interior Paint
2. Air-conditioning or cooling system
3. Bathroom vanity, sink, mirror, light
4. Flooring for lobby and bathroom
5. Replace sagging awning over back door
6. Replace sliding glass door in back room.
7. Fix and replace light fixtures
8. Wheelchair ramp
