As a husband-and-wife team, we’ve poured our souls into these places, welcoming guests who often become friends, sharing laughter, sunsets, and moments that last a lifetime.
The devastation brought by Hurricane Helene has turned our lives upside down. Our beautiful island, once a vibrant haven, is now filled with wreckage. The hurricane destroyed not just our physical structures but also the memories we’ve built over the years—our decorations, furnishings, and the spirit of the Beach Shack. It’s been heartbreaking to see our beloved home in ruins.
In the midst of this turmoil, we are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community. Friends who have become family have rallied around us, dedicating countless hours to help with recovery efforts. They’ve waded through muck and debris, cut out four feet of drywall, and provided food, drinks, and emotional support during these dark days without power or water. Their endless hugs and encouragement remind us that we are not alone in this struggle.
