Hello and thank you for reading this.

Wendy and Dan Prinn are the owners of Olive Black Chicago cocktail lounge at 3032 N. Lincoln Avenue, just northwest of the intersection with Southport and Wellington.

They are the most generous couple I have ever met—and now, we have an opportunity to return their kindness by supporting Olive Black’s recovery following a recent break-in so that they can continue uplifting our community.

They, often joined by their children, have no limits when it comes to giving through multiple endeavors including providing Thanksgiving meals, Christmas dinners, and bi-weekly dignity dinners for migrants and the unhoused. They also host various non-profits’ fundraising events at their business.

Their meals for the less fortunate are made from scratch at Olive Black—often at a great expense to themselves. Wendy and Dan also serve and feed our community on location at Olive Black when ICE isn’t a direct threat such as this year.

But ICE could not stop Wendy from taking delivery orders from Cook County and beyond for the holidays this year. ICE could not stop Wendy and Dan from feeding hundreds of people by request.

Unfortunately, Olive Black was broken into last week. Significant damage was done, the ATM machine was stolen, and the presents under their annual Giving Tree were heartlessly absconded.

Olive Black has never been a financial bonanza. Wendy DoorDashes on her days off to keep up with rising costs and fund Olive Black’s various charity endeavors.

Please help us to make Wendy and Dan whole again. The money raised will help Olive Black make the necessary repairs and to help them get a security gate or something more secure to avoid further break-ins.

Please also join us this Tuesday (12/16/25) for a special benefit night.

Please consider Olive Black for your next private event. (Their catering is out of this world and bursting with custom creativity.)

Or simply stop by for the greatest cocktail (or mocktail) in Chicagoland.

Every little loving act will make a difference in their lives. Wendy and Dan, along with their children, prove this anonymously and without fuss nearly everyday.

Thanks again and Happy Holidays.

With grace and gratitude,
Your Friends & Neighbors
