Help Restore Ohme Gardens After Storm Damage

Tax deductible
Dear friends, nature lovers, and supporters of Ohme Gardens,

We, the Friends of Ohme Gardens, are reaching out today to ask for your help after our beloved Ohme Gardens was severely impacted by a recent windstorm. The historic gardens, which have been a serene sanctuary for visitors from near and far, were significantly damaged by the high winds that swept through Wenatchee.

The storm left behind downed trees, broken branches, and debris scattered across the beautiful grounds. While we are grateful that no one was hurt, the cleanup required to restore the gardens to their original state is a monumental task that comes with significant costs. Our team is working tirelessly to clear the damage, but we need your support to ensure the gardens remain open to the community and continue to thrive.

What Happened: In late February, a powerful windstorm caused widespread damage throughout the area, and Ohme Gardens was no exception. Many of our trees, some of which have been standing for decades, were toppled, while others had large branches broken off. In addition to the trees, much of the delicate landscaping, walkways, and pathways were disrupted, leaving a lot of work to be done to get the garden back to its natural beauty.

Some of the most challenging damage is located on the steep cliffside of the garden, where several large trees have fallen into precarious positions. Due to the difficulty and danger of removing these trees, we’ve had to hire a helicopter pilot to safely pull the trees off the cliffs and clear the area. This specialized service comes with a substantial cost, but it is the safest and most effective way to remove the trees without causing further damage to the gardens.

Why We Need Your Help: The cost of restoring the gardens to their former glory is beyond what we can manage alone. The funds we raise will go directly to:

Tree removal and trimming, including the helicopter services to safely remove trees from the cliffside
Restoration of damaged landscaping and pathways to ensure visitor safety
General cleanup and debris removal to bring the gardens back to life

Ohme Gardens has always been a cherished destination for the community, and we want to ensure that future generations can enjoy it just as we have. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact in helping us recover and rebuild.

How You Can Help: We ask for your generous donations to help cover the costs of this extensive cleanup and restoration. Your support will go a long way in helping us restore the beauty of Ohme Gardens and continue to offer a peaceful escape for all who visit. Whether you can contribute financially or share this campaign with others, every bit of help counts. If you would like to volunteer your time and muscle, we will gladly meet with you at any time.

We are deeply grateful for the love and support of our community, and we thank you in advance for helping us recover from this setback. Together, we can restore Ohme Gardens to its rightful place as one of Wenatchee's most treasured natural spaces.

With heartfelt thanks,
