Dear Friends and Family
This past Thursday, on November 6th, a fire broke out in the New American Stone Mills' sole workspace, causing significant water and smoke damage and halting all production. While thankfully no one was hurt, owners Andrew and Blair are now faced with the financial strains that inevitably accompany such unexpected loss. Let's show them that they are not alone and how grateful we are for their visionary efforts!
It is difficult to overstate the radical impact their work has had on food systems the world over. For more than 10 years, NASM has given rise to a new generation of bakeries and restored the possibility of having flour with a connection to land and place. Not only that, their mills have created a unique kinship of dedicated millers: a global family.
Whatever amount each of us is able to contribute will mean a lot in the long run. Please spread the word and give as you can. Let's help ensure the next 10 years of New American Stone Mills is even more bountiful than the first.
More updates to come...
