On February 27th, my mom, Marissa underwent a double lung transplant—a life-saving procedure after years of battling autoimmune disease and interstitial lung disease. She spent three grueling months in the hospital, fighting through setback after setback, and was intubated and extubated nearly ten times during her stay.
While we are beyond grateful that she made it through the most critical stage of recovery, the journey has come with a heartbreaking cost.
Due to years of harsh medications, constant inflammation, and repeated trauma from intubation, my mom has now lost all of her bottom teeth. It’s a devastating blow for someone who has already endured so much.
To make matters more difficult, she does not qualify for traditional dentures due to bone loss and medical complications. Her only option is full dental implants—an intensive and costly procedure that is not covered by insurance.
This isn’t just about cosmetic appearance. It’s about eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence again. After everything she’s survived, she deserves the dignity and comfort that comes with restoring her smile.
We’re raising $32,500 to help cover the cost of her full dental implants, surgical care, and follow-up treatment. Every donation—big or small—brings us one step closer to giving her back a sense of normalcy and joy
