In Marana, Arizona, Living Word Baptist Church's main sanctuary is left unusable after a fire on Friday night, October 25, 2024. The fire is still under criminal investigation.

This beacon of light has been shining in the community for almost 75 years. Since 1950 a multitude of believers from the Marana community were baptized and started new beginnings at this church. Many others started their family in this steadfast, faithful church, committing their lives to one another in marriage. Many lives have been celebrated and remembered here. During hot summers, church members have served the community with vacation Bible school sessions.

In 1983, then again in 1993 it was devastated by flood waters but the faithful of the congregation came together to restore it. Although, the roof is completely destroyed, there are still members who scooped mud for days from the flood who are determined, again, to see this anchor of the Marana community rebuilt!
