The Story of Syonara 193 Built in 1965 by the renowned Swanson brothers, Syonara 193 is a 40ft timber sloop that has graced Sydney Harbour and beyond for six decades. She has raced in the Sydney to Hobart (1994), countless CYCA regattas, and has stood as a living link to Australia’s golden age of yacht design. But time takes its toll.

Today, Syonara 193 is partly restored — still seaworthy and still racing — but in urgent need of refit and maintenance to secure her future for decades to come.

This GoFundMe is about preserving a piece of maritime history and keeping her not just afloat, but alive and competing.
