Help Restore Kilts Farm's Historic Barn Roof
Tax deductible
Kilts Farm New World Dutch Barn is a unique historic site located in Stone Arabia, New York. Originally built by Peter Kilts in the late 18th century the barn is on its original site and is part of a Palatine German homestead. The site was saved and restored by Willis Barsheid Jr, who collected tools used in many trades in the 18th and 19th century in Stone Arabia. After his death, Kilts Farm became a not for profit, educational site to teach historic trades, using this unique tool collection.
The New World Dutch Barn which stands on its original site, houses the tool collection of several trades. We are restoring the barn to preserve it, we need to put a new cedar shingle roof on the barn this summer. We have a donor who is willing to match donations for this exceptional historic barn. We are planning on beginning the project in late August. The fundraising time is crucial, so that we have the materials and labor by the end of August.
