Oral Surgery for a Sickle Cell Warrior & Mom

Donation protected
Every morning, I wake up with one goal: to make sure every person I encounter feels seen, heard, and valued. Whether it’s through a warm smile, a kind word, or a spontaneous conversation (which my boys will tell you I’ll strike up anytime, anywhere, for any reason—lol!), I believe in spreading light wherever I go.

That joy I share so freely comes from a deep place. For over 35 years, I’ve been living with sickle cell disease—a journey filled with challenges, setbacks, and countless battles. But through it all, I’ve held on tightly to my smile. Smiling has been my way of fighting back, of showing the world that I’m still here, still joyful, still me.

Now, I’m facing a new hurdle. Due to complications from both sickle cell and some unfortunate dental work, I’m in need of extensive oral surgery. It’s not just about restoring my health—it’s about restoring a part of me. A part that brings joy to others. A part that helps me connect deeply with the young SCD Warriors I mentor and support every day.

That’s why I’m reaching out—not just to share my story, but to ask for your support. This surgery is crucial and costly, but I believe in the power of community, compassion, and shared strength. Help me continue to make people feel seen, valued, and inspired. Maybe one day I can do the same for you. I humbly ask for your help in this next chapter of my journey.
(This is phase 1 of 3)

Let’s keep smiling—together.

Thank you for your kindness and support!
