My Puna (grandma), Jo Ann Lowe, has lived in Lāʻie for over 40 years, and her home has always been a place of warmth and welcome for our family and the community. For the past 12 years, my parents, siblings, and I have been living with her, sharing countless memories and moments together. Unfortunately, our home recently experienced heavy flooding due to the flash flooding on the North Shore of Oʻahu. This is the fourth time my Puna's home has flooded, and each time has brought new challenges and losses. This time, the entire house was affected. We lost a lot of furniture, personal belongings, and both of our family cars, which we rely on for daily life.

The damage has been extensive. All of the carpet had to be torn out, so new flooring will be a huge part of the repairs. We may also need new cabinets for the kitchen, as well as new couches, a dining table, chairs, and bookshelves. Additionally, a foot of drywall throughout the house needs to be replaced. On top of the damage to our home, losing both family cars has made it even more difficult for us to get back on our feet. These repairs and replacements are essential to help us restore our home and provide a safe, comfortable space for my Puna and our family. I know that my Puna is loved by many people. She is too humble to ask for help herself, which is why I am creating this GoFundMe on her behalf.
