Hello Niantic Neighbors,

I’m proud to establish this GoFundMe account for the Indian Pond on Atlantic Avenue in Niantic, CT 06357. Indian Pond is west of McCook’s Point Park entrance.

For the last three years, neighbors of the pond have been donating money and time to bring the pond back to a healthier stage of its life. The environmental restoration effort of the pond started with Diane, a neighbor in Crescent Beach Association, three years ago with a challenge to get involved in improving the visual and physical health of the pond.

In the past three years, we hired Pond & Lake to assist us with this local environmental campaign as well as:

A) Purchasing the aeration fountain

B) Eliminating the phragmites plants

C) Maintaining landscaping along the sidewalk on Atlantic Avenue

The Future of the Pond

Indian Pond’s location is on your walking route when entering and exiting McCooks Point Park Entrance, so you and your friends have pleasure of seeing and hearing the beautiful pond and the birds that live around it.

We are asking for a donation from you and your friends so this volunteer group for neighbors can continue to make environmental healthy choices for the Pond

A) install pollinator plants and flowers along the fence line on Atlantic Ave

B) install install automatic water misting system for the pollinator plants

C) Continue to heighten awareness of this natural salt pond.
