Help Restore Independence with Bioptic Training

I need help getting on the road again! As many of you know, I suddenly went legally blind back in August 2023. The doctors haven’t figured out how or why that happened. In the last few days I finally got my Bioptic glasses which allows for me to see much better. I’ve had almost every test known to man including genetic tests with no answers. Everything is coming back clear which is bittersweet because I still have no answers for why this happened to me. I am happy to say that I am eligible to drive again. I have to get specialized training to be able to do so. That comes at a steep cost since there is only one person in the entire state of South Carolina that offers Bioptic training. Imagine that! The crazy thing is I have to start over from scratch. I have to turn in my license for a pemit! I hope you guys can find it in your heart to donate to the cause and if you aren’t able to donate please send up a prayer or two for me. They definitely work! Im living proof of it. Long post. Bare with me. It’s taking everything in me to type this. So almost a year ago to the date, I became legally blind. I lost most of my independence and a career that I loved and I damn near lost my mind. My life as I knew it was over in my opinion. How can I go from being totally independent to being dependent on someone to do some of the smallest things for me. I’m usually the helper and not the one that needs help. Well today I was able to gain some of my independence back. I have new Bioptic glasses that allow me to see better. While my vision isn’t where it was, I can still see my babies beautiful faces. I’ll eventually be able to drive with some specialized training and maybe I’ll be able to work again. I said all this to say that your life can change at the drop of a dime without warning. I used to always say why me but why not me. I’m strong and I am a soldier. I’ve always stood ten toes down and I’m not about to stop now. This is just another part of my TESTimony!
