On the night of January 4, 2026, a truck I bought to help protect my city was turned into something I never intended—a danger on the streets of Houston. That green military-style truck you may have seen on the news in a high-speed chase was mine. I purchased that retired Army vehicle, along with generators, trailers, and a mobile command-style unit, to build a grassroots first-response support team for Houston and Harris County. My vision was simple: when hurricanes, floods, or other disasters hit, I wanted to have heavy-duty equipment ready to move people, supplies, and power into the neighborhoods that are often last in line for help.
Before I could finish outfitting it for that mission, someone stole the truck. That person used it in a hit-and-run with injuries, led police on a long chase, hit multiple vehicles, and eventually caused a SWAT standoff that ended only after officers had to disable the truck and bring the situation under control. The truck is now badly damaged and cannot be used for the purpose I bought it for. I’m not a big company, and this wasn’t a business play. This was my own money, time, and heart going into something I hoped would serve the community I love.
I’m asking for help now because I can’t restore this truck on my own. Repairing it means: Bringing a powerful rescue vehicle back to life. Finishing the build-out so it can move people out of flooded areas and bring supplies into hard-to-reach zones. Turning a frightening incident into a story of resilience and preparation for the next storm. If you can, please help me repair and rebuild this truck so it can finally do what it was meant to do: serve Houston, not harm it. Any donation—large or small—moves this project closer to the finish line. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign is also a big help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading this, for caring about our city, and for helping me turn this setback into something positive for Houston.
