Hi, my name is Payton Hansen, and I am asking for help during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

For almost a year and a half now, my home has been without running hot water. Something most people never have to think about has become a daily struggle for me. Simple things like bathing, washing dishes, or feeling comfortable in my own home are constant reminders of a situation I have been unable to fix on my own. Living this way for so long has taken a serious toll on my mental health, leaving me feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and stuck.

I inherited this house from my grandmother, Peggy Hansen, who had lived in Navarre since the 80s. I am blessed to have inherited her dream home after she passed away, which also happened to be just a few months after my father passed away as well.

During a time when I was already grieving and trying to hold myself together, the pipes in the house burst. Unfortunately, the insurance on the home was no longer valid at that time, which meant none of the damage was covered.

To make matters worse, the pipes in the house were made from a material that is now outlawed. Because of this, no licensed plumber will repair just the burst section. The entire plumbing system has to be replaced before hot water can safely run through the house again.

Since this happened, we have tried everything possible. We have applied for loans, reached out for assistance, and explored every option we could find. So far, nothing has worked. Each dead end has made this situation feel even heavier, but I have not given up hope.

Replacing the pipes would finally restore hot water to the house and allow me to live with a basic level of comfort again. It would mean being able to care for myself properly, feel safe in my home, and begin healing from the stress this has caused over the past year and a half.
