Hello, my name is Tamika, and I am reaching out on behalf of OUR FATHER'S HOUSE OF PRAYER, a historic church that has been a blessing to our community for many years. This beautiful church was originally built in the early 1900s, and its gymnasium was added in 1910. Much of the building still holds its original pews and pulpit, making it a truly special and historic place in our area. For decades, these walls have welcomed people in need — offering prayer, support, and a place of comfort.
Today, the church continues to serve the community in many ways. It is used to feed those who are hungry, host recovery meetings such as AA, and provide space for a daycare that serves local families and children. It is more than a building — it is a place of hope, faith, and care. The woman who faithfully maintains this church gives her whole heart to keeping God’s house open. In the winter she shovels snow, in the spring she plants flowers, in the summer she cuts the grass, and in the fall she rakes the leaves — all so this place can continue to serve others.
Unfortunately, this winter we learned that the church furnace must be completely replaced. This furnace heats both the sanctuary and the upstairs area where the daycare operates. Without heat, the church, daycare, and community programs are at risk of shutting down during the cold months. As written in Matthew 25:35, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." This church has lived out that scripture for years. Now we humbly ask for help so we can continue to keep this historic place open and warm for those who need it most.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward replacing the furnace and restoring heat to this house of worship and community support. From all of us at OUR FATHER'S HOUSE OF PRAYER, the daycare, and the many people who rely on this place — thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support.
