Dear friends, supporters, and kindhearted strangers,
I am the owner and fundraising on behalf of Fisherman’s Inn, our family-run business in Trelawny, Jamaica, after Hurricane Melissa caused devastating damage to our property and our livelihood. This storm has left us facing destruction we never imagined: our roof was torn apart, much of our furniture and equipment destroyed, and our team is now displaced as we work urgently to secure temporary shelter and begin repairs.
For decades, Fisherman’s Inn has been more than a guesthouse — it has been a home for travelers, a safe harbor for fishermen, and a community space for locals who have shared meals, memories, and milestones within our walls. Today, those walls are broken. And we are asking for your help to rebuild.
Every donation will go directly to Fisherman’s Inn’s business account and will be used for:
• Rebuilding our roof and repairing structural damage
• Replacing destroyed furniture, equipment, and lodging essentials
• Restoring our restaurant, dock, and gathering spaces
• Supporting temporary housing and basic needs for our displaced staff
Hurricane Melissa struck harder than anyone prepared for, and we are now left picking up the pieces of a place that has served our community for decades. With your support, we can restore not only a business — but a source of income, stability, and pride for our employees and the wider Trelawny community.
Your generosity will help us reopen our doors, provide jobs again, and welcome guests back to the shores we love so deeply.
Please share our story, keep us in your prayers, and, if you are able, contribute to our recovery. Together, we can bring Fisherman’s Inn back to life and rebuild stronger than before. ❤️
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and unwavering support.
— The Fisherman’s Inn Family
