Help Restore Eno Valley Swim and Racquet Club After Flood
Donation protected
Our Beloved Eno Valley Swim and Racquet Club needs your help. On Sunday, July 7, in a massive flood, the Eno River rose and engulfed the entire property. Nothing was spared: the buildings, fences, furniture, equipment, the pool, the courts. We have the hard work of assessment, cleaning, repair, and replacement ahead of us.
Since the late 1960s, the Club has been a place of comradery, fun, fellowship and relaxation. Children have learned to swim here and then joined the Eno Orcas swim team. Some have continued on to work at the shack, become lifeguards and even pool managers. Families enjoy cold drinks at the snack shack and laugh about who had the best belly flop off the high dive. After the thwack of tennis balls and shouts of “Match point!”, the kids trade rackets for goggles and dive into refreshing pool. We are a family club and we want to rebuild.
The river will never wash away those memories, and it won’t wash away our community. With hard work and your help, we’ll enjoy our summer days once again.
