Help Restore El Modena High's Stage Sound
Donation protected
I am fundraising for a project to repair the sound system at El Modena High School in Orange, California. They have a stage in the cafeteria with lighting, curtains, and a built-in sound system with speakers mounted from the ceiling and controlled from a booth in the back of the room. Although it was nice when it was new, the speakers and amps don’t work anymore, and some of the wiring and connectors have degraded and either stopped working entirely or have static and bad connections. None of this is surprising as everything looks like it could be as old as the school itself. They need new speakers, new amplifiers, and some labor for new wiring, connectors and setup to get everything back in shape for the kids.
The cost for all that is $12,757 which includes high-quality commercial grade equipment that should last a very long time, and has all been scoped out by a professional live performance audio company.
The stage is used by several groups at the school including drama, choir, and music.
All donations are tax deductible as donations to a public school for a public purpose pursuant to IRS tax code 170(c)(1). Funds will be paid to El Modena High School ASB.
I'm spearheading this because my son Luke played the talent show the last two years and the "work-around" audio solution they had to use wasn't very good. Although he just graduated, we see a need and want to help.
Let's get it working again!
