Dora's Nursery was opened over 20 years ago in Leakey, Texas by Dora and Israel Trejo. Dora's daughter, Silvia Bryant, took over the nursery when her parents retired. The garden center has been a staple in the community, providing plants, pottery, and metal art to the Frio Canyon and beyond.
On March 10, a terrible and destructive hailstorm hit Leakey, Texas. Dora's Nursery was in the direct path of the storm. No one expected the severity of the storm that occurred. Even though precautions were taken, nearly all plants outdoors were lost, including trees, roses, veggies & herbs, hanging baskets, and more. Some pottery and several displays were also damaged or destroyed in the hailstorm. Both greenhouses suffered serious hail damage and will need to be repaired.
This GoFundMe is open to help in any way possible to assist with restocking lost plants for Spring and repairing the nursery so it can return to normalcy and continue serving our wonderful community. All donations will be put towards replacing what was lost in the storm. Thank you!
