Hi everyone,
Many of you know and love Blackbird Island Pond as a place where kids catch their first fish, families spend time together, and our community connects with the outdoors.
Unfortunately, the December flood caused significant damage. The pond is now filled with debris, and the pump system that keeps fish alive through the summer was heavily impacted. Right now, the future of the pond is uncertain.
The good news: we can bring it back for the 2026 season!
With a focused effort and volunteer support, we have a clear, practical plan to:
1. Clear log jam at pump house
2.Clear debris at pond
3.Restore bank and inlet
4.Restore pumps
We’re not trying to over-engineer this—we’re simply trying to get the pond up and running again for families and kids to enjoy this summer.
Our immediate goal is to raise $20,000 to fund materials, equipment, and critical repairs. With additional support, we hope to reach $50,000 to ensure ongoing operations and future maintenance.
If this pond has meant something to you or your family, we’d appreciate your support.
Every contribution helps—whether it’s $50, $500, or more.
We’ll also be organizing volunteer work days soon, and we’d love your help on the ground as well.
Let’s bring this special place back to life!
