Recent destructive storms have created an urgent need at Coffee Creek Preserve. Numerous mature trees were brought down throughout the Preserve, leaving trail blocks, damaging trails and boardwalks, and creating hazardous conditions. Cleanup has already begun, but the scale of the damage far exceeds what our annual maintenance budget was designed to handle.

Coffee Creek Preserve is a beloved community treasure — a place to walk, jog, connect with nature, observe wildlife, or find a quiet moment by the creek. Many visitors don’t realize the Preserve receives no public funding. Its routine maintenance, stewardship, and protection is funded through support from neighboring homes, businesses, and generous donors like you.

Maintaining the Preserve involves more than most people see. Behind the scenes, caring for the Preserve includes:

• Weekly mowing and trail trimming

• Removal of fallen trees, debris, and trash removal

• Repairs to brick pavers and washed-out pathways

• Replacement of aging boardwalks and walking paths

• Pond and fountain maintenance

• Environmental studies, plant surveys, and stewardship programs

• Invasive plant removal and native species restoration

• Educational and conservation programming

• Website and social media management

All of this happens on a limited budget with a volunteer board of directors.

If you use the Preserve, love it, or have simply enjoyed it at any point — we’re asking for your help. No gift is too small. Every contribution goes directly toward storm cleanup, trail restoration, and reopening affected areas as quickly as possible.

Funds raised beyond cleanup costs will support overdue replacement of aging boardwalk and paver sections to improve accessibility for all visitors.
