Support Shtempel’s family after Hurricane Helene

**Update As of today Oct 9, Last week we been working very hard removing construction debris, restoring parking lot, washing walls, cleaning all of the pipes, fixed submerged forklift. Now we have the power in the buildingsand functioning forklift. Yesterday we received new air compressor, because the old one was washed away

Our next goal is to raise American flag over Swannanoa**

On September 27, 2024, Alpha Stone experienced devastating flooding as a result of Hurricane Helene at its location on 2576 US 70 Hwy in Swannanoa, NC

On Thursday evening, September 26, my husband Sergey was in a meeting later than usual at his office. Thankfully, one of his neighbors visited and warned him that the Swannanoa River, right behind our buildings was projected to reach 21 feet of water level rise the next day. Taking the warning seriously, he called me and close family members to come and move vehicles and lift some equipment. Sergey also alerted neighboring businesses to secure their premises. We expected the roads might be bad to drive on the next morning, so we decided to stay that night at the location, lifting more stuff up. Early in morning the river already went from its banks, water started to come into the building so after we pray for safety of local people, we ran to the other side of the highway 70. The next seven hours we were staying completely cut off from the ground with six other neighbors, who were also escaping the flood. Right front of our eyes we witnessed the disaster the water brought - houses, trucks and trailers, cars and boats trees and dumpster were washed away. Being helpless to do anything we prayed for surrounding areas and the people. After the water finally receded, we returned back to see what had happened.

Despite our best efforts to save our equipment and supplies, everything on outside was washed away everything inside was damaged by floodwaters.

Right now we are working relentlessly to clean and restore our business which provides our family income. Working on our own property Sergey also heavily involved in organizing volunteers groups to help people in most needed situations.
