Help Restore a Smile After Dental Trauma

This is embarrassing in every sense of the word, but with the amount of self esteem I've been running on lately, its all or nothing:

Last week, while eating dinner, as one does at the end of the day, I had an unexpected issue arise that happened that caused serious damage to my teeth and the enormous amount of money I've already spent on them. Backstory: I was born with deep grooves in my molars so they constantly needed a protective coating. Sadly, once my dad removed me from his policy at 18, the insurance offered to me through my job was basically something you pull out of a cracker jack box. It was 1/2 price cleaning one time per year. That was it. Nothing else. Certainly not deep groove coatings. Well, over time, my teeth began to grow closer together because unfortunately, my insurance (either medical or dental) did not cover wisdom extraction, so my teeth began to over crowd, and one tooth bore the the worst of this, getting pushed outward toward my lower lip, gradually over time. And I mean GRADUALLY. I barely noticed it besides in mirror when brushing. That is until last week, when I went to take a bite of spaghetti. And, my upper right front tooth, which was directly above my lower tooth that had slowly been pushd outward toward my lip, decided that it would try going BEHIND my lower tooth, rather than in front of as it had for the past 44 years.

What ensued was one of the most painful, miserable experiences I've ever encountered. My front upper and lower teeth made a sound similar to that of a horrific car crash, and suddenly I no longer have an upper front tooth as its laying on my plate of spaghetti; the lower teeth (directly below as well as the one beside it are hanging by threads, gorilla glue, and hope.) The top tooth was ripped out of my jaw the very hardest way possible. Rather than wait for me to get home and tie a string around jt and yank it out fast and painlessly it was ripped out from from the top of the jaw, breaking the jaw bone in the process. The pain was horrible and has continued in the form of all day migraines and cluster headaches.

My dental insurance won't cover this type of work, beyond a small out of network stipend. On top of this, my job is marketing and sales, speaking with customers over the phone to see how their experience was, answer any questions, etc . I had to go on Short Term Disability as I sound exactly like Donald Duck and Daffy Duck had a child, and nobody can understand me, and they get frustrated fast.

If you can and do help, the appreciation I'll feel is inconceivable. I'm not exactly someone with a lot of self-esteem, and this has really just hit me in a negative way in almost all aspects. So please if you can spare some coffee money, anything - thank you.

I am an intelligent resourceful guy, and trust and believe me when I say that I have reviewed and attempted every other possibility and this one seems to the best (and only) chance of the quickest success. Please try to imagine what it's like to leave the house missing an upper and two bottom front teeth. The grocery store, the pharmacy, the doctor, your veterinarian, pet groomer, repeating this over and over and over. Please, anything at all will help and be appreciated.

The $7500 seems high, and I get it. They need to do a bone graft on my upper jaw with living cadaver bones tissue (ick) During the healing process, I have to wear a special collar that speeds up the healing process, 14 hours hours/day before they’ll fit me with my temp partial and then 2 weeks later my permanent partial. I went to school with some amazing people most people would dream of having a class filled with . Now, not all folks were dreams to interact with, but the way we treat people at that age usually reflects demons hiding in the dark corners of their home.

I’ve never asked for help like this before. I’ve gone back and forth for a week. At the end I believe the people that truly care about me, and love me don’t want me to suffer like this any-longer tThank you to everyone who donates, who shares the video, and who adds a Brett story or anecdote. I’ve tried to be a good person, but I’ve failed. And failed. And failed. I will continue to try until my last breath. My dad did, and while we never ended up close neither did we fail to make any connection.
