Help restore a Scottish American War Memorial
Donation protected
Only $3,500 is required to restore a memorial to Scottish American residents of Rhode Island who gave their lives in the two world wars. The original marker, including plaques for each conflict, was placed by Clan Fraser in Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket in May 1945.
Eleven men were memorialized - three from World War I (George M. Ross, Robert Johnston, James Sargeant) and eight from World War II (David M. Jeffrey, James M. Jeffrey, David G. Clelland, J. Glenn Ferguson, William S. Gemmell, N. Grant Logan, Robert Perry, Jr., Gordon G. Ross, William E. Salisbury).
The City of Pawtucket has requested support in replacing the original cement base, which has badly deteriorated. A granite slab with both plaques will be mounted on a new cement base.
Your contribution can help restore a rare acknowledgment of the ultimate sacrifice made by Scottish Americans in defense of our country. It will endure for decades to remind future generations of the exceptional contribution immigrants and their descendants made to the United States.
