4 years ago, I asked my fb friends if they knew any contractors that could gut and redo my mom’s kitchen….. ok, after going through my comments quite a few of them recommend Dre Newby…(ZoneWork), that was the WORST thing they COULD’VE DONE! I swear I wasn’t going to say anything, just take it as a loss, but it’s been almost 5 years and I can’t hold it no more….. it saddens and outrages me of how my mom was taken complete advantage of….

Dre was a cool dude but his work is ️ GARBAGE- I think my kids could’ve did a better job then him n crackheads n winos! My mom is older, sickly woman…..and I hate that a contractor took complete advantage of her….he took all of her money and left her in a far worse situation then she started with!

I contacted Dre bk in 2020… he said he could remodel the kitchen no problem- he met my mom, they talked about prices and all that, I wasn’t involved with that…but before I knew it they were gutting everything. BECAUSE he gutted the kitchen down to the STUDS….he is responsible for everything thats messed up in that kitchen!!!! he took the floor up- he took a half wall down, he was suppose to paint the walls, move wash n dryer hookup so she could get a stackable- basically she wanted to rearrange the kitchen so that the space could be use and flow better all together ‍IN TOTAL MY MOM TOLD ME SHE PAID WELL OVER 10K….. but sumwea BETWEEN 10-12k. she used all her savings, she pulled from her IRA, she maxed out credit cards, and used the last of the insurance money from my dad passing. My mom brought the materials he suggested- and did whatever she was told that he needed her to do far as funding. of coarse she’s trusting it’s gonna be done right and thought she’d love it- smh! Well we were wrong and She was very DISAPPOINTED at his end result! I’m gonna post these pictures and I’m positive that everyone is gonna be in disbelief at how HORRIBLE his work is and the saddest part is that she spent all of her money, so she’s stuck with this this horrible kitchen he left her with!

Before yall ask- YES I DID IMMEDIATELY CONTACT HIM WITH MY COMPLAINTS N CONCERNS….. and I felt like I was jus blew off- he didn’t come bk and try to help or fix any of the very bad work that he did and knew wasn’t right….. ❌after about a year passed, the floor started cracking and feeling weak and unsafe- HE BLAMED MY MOM SAYING- “oh it’s like that cuz of the TYPE OF FLOORING SHE WANTED”- like HOW WOULD SHE KNOW WHAT FLOORING SHE SHOULD NEED…. Then he tells me if she buys more flooring he’d put it down…SHE CANT AFFORD TO BUY NOTHING OVER and WHY should she??? - she already use ALL the money she had excepting it to be done correctly and not ever HAVE TO WORRY about it again. It’s just so sad. ❌On the kitchen walls, he choose to by beaded wall wood panels, because there was some on the dining room side- but it didn’t match- and he didn’t even attempt to make it match- like idk maybe painting it all one color or something, idk but it looked ridiculous. ❌Then they cut the panels AROUND THE RECEPTACLES…. So now the covers can’t go over- it’s just terrible! When i called him about that he just said - “You just need to buy new covers”…HOW WHEN YOU CUT AROUND THE WHOLE FACE PLATE!!!! No cover will cover that!

❌He found sum cheap countertop for the sink and just sat it against the wall…. ITS NOT CORKED OR CONNECTED AT ALL! Like witw!!! I was like he cant be serious- this can’t be real! ❌There was an outlet on the half wall he tore down- so he ended up putting it on the floor…. That would’ve been fine but he put down the flooring and left the receptacles complete uncovered…smh man…..

Moving forward- I’ve posted the horrible work he did to my mom kitchen to Facebook. My mom was offered lots of help from contractors saying they would help redo her kitchen… if she had materials- and lots of people said she should sue- unfortunately we were told he’s not legally licensed- and therefore we probably couldn’t take actions against him- so not only did he take advantage and rob her blind- we also probably can’t get justice. so I was suggested to create this so that maybe my mom will be able to raise some funds and to buy more materials and get help from some of the nice people reaching out to fix her kitchen for her.

I just hope everyone seeing my post and pics will SHARE them n NEVER REFER or use him for anything! It’s a shame how he did my mom and I just couldn’t stay silent about it anymore!!!!
