For almost two centuries, historic Trinity Lutheran Church has stood at 5300 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia as a pillar of faith, history, and community. Its steeple has watched over the neighborhood through eras of change, and its sanctuary has held generations of baptisms, weddings, funerals, revivals, performances and life changing encounters with God. Today, this sacred landmark is in crisis. This winter, burst water pipe has caused severe damage, to parts of the building. “Sacred spaces that once echoed with prayer and praise now bear the scars of the harsher elements of nature."
