Help Resilient Hearts find a shelter!

Help Resilient Hearts continue to make a difference for animals in need! Since May 2019, Resilient Hearts has saved 100 dogs and almost 100 cats from WA, TX, GA and AZ, and united them with their forever families here in the PNW. We are so fortunate to have found dozens of local organizations and businesses that have helped us grow and make a big impact. We are asking our community now to help us fund a shelter/adoption space to help make an even bigger impact!

Until now, we have been operating as a foster based organization, relying on our wonderful foster community to care for our dogs and cats. We experienced a huge rush of excitement and interest from our community in the early days of COVID, when people were suddenly at home and able to foster and adopt. But as we have entered a period of uncertainty, our foster help has become limited. Sadly, if we don't have a foster or other space to send animals, then we cannot say yes to dogs when they are in desperate need of escape from high kill shelters.

This week alone, we have had to make difficult decisions to turn away several cries for help from our neighbors here in Seattle. Last week, we had to painstakingly narrow a list of a dozen kill-list dogs down to 2. This simply isn't acceptable to us anymore.

The $25,000 raised through this fundraiser is a starting point to a bigger and brighter future for our animals. We recently toured a vacant property for lease north of Seattle, a place that would let us set up several dog runs, have an open space for our cats, provide quiet holding areas for medical needs dogs, offer a place to process new intakes as their transports arrive, be a place to set up a grooming station, store supplies and donations in the same place as our animals, and act as adoption floor to showcase our animals. We cannot overstate the impact that having a set location will make - from being able to host meet n greets with potential adopters and providing an environment where the public can see and meet our animals, to having a place to host essential events like puppy yoga and foster appreciation days.

As a foster based group, we have donations piling up in multiple locations, do not have an established office space to process our intakes, and have to drive up to an hour away from Seattle to pick up or drop off fosters for events and medical appointments.

Nonprofits continually struggle to raise money and keep our causes running. In reality, animal rescues in the PNW are a dime a dozen. But Resilient Hearts continuously stands above in our commitment to serving the forever family, not the forever home, and our commitment to be flexible and inclusive to allow more people to participate in our programs. These funds will go a long way to help us fulfill more of our goals, and give us a greater opportunity to save more animals in need.
