Help Rescued Puppy Fight Parvo
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Kristi; my husband Eric and I just started to help some of the community cat feeders/volunteers-shout out to Mary and Susan-feed some of the feral cats that live by Heeia Pier. On the evening of August 26, 2022, Mary, Eric, and I found this little guy hiding in the bushes. He was very scared but had a tattered collar, so we knew he was either lost or dumped. We took him to our local VCA Clinic, where he was scanned for a microchip (not chipped) and contacted the Humane Society to list him as a lost pet. Humane Society let us know that earlier that day, two other puppies, who they are certain were his littermates, were caught, but our "Catch" got away (vet estimates they are 4-5 months old). Unfortunately, due to their parvo condition, we learned the Humane Society had put his siblings down that night. Given the circumstances, the Humane Society is guessing these puppies were from an ill-kept puppy mill or home breeder who dumped them once they showed signs of illness. Without an owner, we had hours to act to decide if we could sign off with the vet to take financial responsibility and prevent Catch from being put down. Along with Mary, we were able to cover the $2500 deposit (total quote was $8000-$6131 at VCA then $2000 at Waipahu Waikele Pet Clinic, where he will be transferred to in 2 days), so Catch could start treatment today. We are humbly asking for help to cover the remainder of the bill. We have already had a few very gracious friends make donations directly to us, so we are asking for help with the remaining $5000. Below is a picture of the VCA estimate, and I will upload a copy of the Waipahu Waikele Clinic estimate once received. We are positive Catch is a fighter and want to do all we can to give him a chance to live the life he deserves. Any amount is appreciated!
