My name is Tina and I am the founder and president of Rescue to the Max, Max’s Legacy Inc.

When I founded this rescue, my main goal was to move dogs and cats out of the area to places that have less abuse and neglect. Over time, this has become harder because the entire animal care system is in crisis.

So, I run Rescue to the Max on my property and out of my home. We are situated on 20 acres. Our sanctuary animals here include dogs, cats, cows, and pigs. Unfortunately, we have come to a standstill as far as adopting out dogs. At this time, there are a little bit over 200 dogs here that I care for with the help of my husband, Keith, who works in Boston while I live here full-time in Florida taking care of all the babies.

We have struggled this year like no other. And if you have followed us on our Facebook page, we have had problem after problem with our air conditioner unit in our home, which houses approximately 35 senior dogs and a few other dogs that just can’t stand to be out of my sight. So for the third time in three years, our air conditioner is broken and this time it is irreparable.

We need to raise money as quickly as we can to get the air conditioner replaced. And at this point in time, help cover the electric bills for the next couple of months. For the month of June, the electric bills for the house and the rescue side of the property totaled $1200. That’s a lot of money whenever every bill and 90% of the food for the animals comes directly out of our pockets. We do have a few wonderful donors that help us out each week, and we appreciate each and every one of you. So I am here begging and pleading for help to get this taken care of.
