Help Rescue Street Cats in Doha, Qatar with Sip and Purr MKE
Donation protected
This month, for my birthday, I'm raising funds to support the International Cat Rescue efforts of Sip and Purr, MKE. Specifically, the rescue efforts in Doha, Qatar, where there are approximately three million stray cats on the streets without much hope of existence... {there are about 3 million people living in Qatar in 2025}.
As you may know, our best boy, Raja, was part of the Sip & Purr International Rescue Scholarship Program. Raja {known as Costa in Qatar} was being used as a breeding cat and was being kept in a mop closet 24/7. Luckily, he and three of his offspring escaped their plight before being discarded on the streets of Doha when they were no longer deemed of value. Now he's living his best life ever with two doting dads. Most cats in Qatar are not so lucky and perish on the streets.
The average cost to rescue a cat is $1,000. The adoption fee for a Sip and Purr International Scholarship cat is $100. My goal is to raise $3,000, enough to save 3 more cats. Every little bit helps - if you can give $5-$10, it makes a difference.
For more information on more lucky Qatari rescue cats and the problem, check out Mye Hoang's fabulous documentary - 25 Cats from Qatar - that features the work of Sip and Purr's Katy McHugh and a small army of international rescue volunteer heroes:
