Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue began in 2003 and has been a boots-on-the-ground organization ever since. What started as a breed-specific rescue quickly grew to welcome all breeds, and even small animals and livestock, as space allows. Our team is made up of animal-loving volunteers who dedicate countless hours to keeping the organization afloat and ensuring every animal receives the care they deserve. Some of our sanctuary dogs will live out their days with us, cherished and safe, because they were either not adoptable or simply overlooked by adopters.
Last night, we learned about a Labrador Retriever in Cleveland, TX who has been living on the streets for a year after being abandoned by his family. He waits in the same spot every day, hoping for their return. Volunteers have been feeding him, but he still faces the elements alone, without a home or family. To make matters worse, he has an old injury that needs medical attention. Despite everything, he remains friendly with everyone who cares for him, including other dogs and cats. He even tried to climb into a volunteer’s car, eager for a chance at a new life.
The funds raised will first and foremost go toward his medical care, temporary boarding, and support for his future foster family with high-quality food, bedding, toys, and anything else that will make him comfortable. If needed, we’ll provide professional training to help him adjust to life off the streets. Any additional funds will be used to continue caring for other dogs and future rescues in our program.
Please help us show this handsome boy that people are good and that he deserves a better life. As a special thank you, the highest donor will have the opportunity to name him—a new name for a new life! Your support means the world to us and to every animal we help.
