Justin P adopted Lazarus the morning he was scheduled for euthanasia in a kill shelter. Lazarus is a bid dog- Great Pyrenees mix, maybe with Golden Retriever. He is a good boy, and accustomed to being a stray, but took to Justin and his family the first day. Unfortunately, Lazarus was used to being outside and on that first day he didn’t know his new home yet and pushed his way past Justin to get out the front door.
He was missing for 24 hours, with Justin and others searching constantly and following leads and sightings reported all day long on social media. It ended with a report of Lazarus being hit by a car after traversing a busy highway. Good people were with him, and got him to an emergency vet/ hospital.
After the emergency vet and some lifesaving procedures and spending a night there, Lazarus was transferred to another facility.
We know all of this will generate a large bill… if you’d like to help Justin and his family with this unexpected medical expense (after saving this dog’s life), please make a donation. Many people followed Lazarus’ story through the 24 hours, and he and Justin touched a lot of hearts.
Thank you!
