My neighbor saw a dog laying on the side of the road, not moving, and thought he was dead. She called me to ask if I had ever seen this dog before, and I hadn't. When I arrived, the dog was in poor condition: an open wound on his back left leg, a bad eye that was gray and protruding, thick mats, dirty fur, and a strong smell. The wound on his leg turned out to be a tumor. I found out who the owner was, but they were out of town, so I took the dog to my vet. The vet cleaned him up, did labs, checked for heartworms, and gave him medicine. They checked the pressure in his eyes and determined the eye needs to be removed, and the tumor needs to be removed as well. Covering the cost of these procedures is not in my budget. The owner has decided to let us take care of the dog, so I am asking for help.
All funds will go directly toward the enucleation (eye removal) and mass/tumor removal procedures for the dog, as well as his recovery and ongoing care. Donations will be used at The Animal Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Anything and everything is so much appreciated. Taking on an extra animal is not within most of our budgets, but I would have spent every last bit of credit to make sure this dog was not suffering. Thank you so much for your help in a crunch today. Every dollar donated will go to The Animal Hospital in Milledgeville. Dogs don't have a voice, so I'm sharing mine. Thanks so much!
