Help rescue cats in memory of Ivy
Donation protected
I'm swimming the length of the English Channel (21 miles) to support rescue cats in memory of my beloved Ivy. I can't do it all in one go but I will get there!
Ivy
Ivy had a hard life before she came to us, but we were blessed with seven wonderful years together. I know that she would want all cats to know love, safety and have a warm bed to snooze on. She loved cuddles and had strong opinions - anytime we stayed out past our usual bedtime she would be waiting by the door ready to tell us off and rush us into bed. She spent every night sleeping in the crook of my knees and purring like it was her full time job. Ivy shared the last six months of her life with Magpie, a blind rescue kitty from Meow and Furever rescue. They loved one another dearly and often cuddled up together and groomed each other. Like us, he is lost without her.
The Swim
It's important that I make clear that I am not a strong swimmer! I hope that a big challenge for me means big donations in Ivy's memory. I'll be swimming 21 miles (not all in one go!) which is about 1,355 lengths. I'm aiming to complete this within 4-6 weeks and will provide regular updates along the way.
Rescues
Donations will be split equally between:
Meow and Furever Cat Rescue, Nottingham
Holly's Merry Moggies Cat Shelter, Nottingham
Both are wonderful, local rescues who need our support more than ever. Together we can help more cats feel loved and safe in Ivy's memory.
