If you know Jennifer and Joni, you know one thing for certain—they are fighters.
The past year has been one of the hardest any family should ever have to face. Just over a year ago, they lost their father. Then they mourned the loss of two dear friends to cancer. As if that wasn’t enough, at the end of 2024, Joni was diagnosed with cancer herself.
The good news? Joni is kicking cancer’s ass. She continues to fight with incredible strength, courage, and determination, and we’re all cheering her on every step of the way.
But lately, it seems that every time something starts going right, something else goes terribly wrong.
Sometime during the night, the daycare van was stolen. In an instant, the vehicle they depend on to transport the children in their care was gone. Without it, taking the kids on educational outings, field trips, activities, and even transporting them once school starts has become a major challenge.
The hardest part is that this is a family that has spent generations putting others before themselves.
Jenifer and her husband have opened their hearts and home to more than 100 foster children over the years and have adopted four of those precious kids into their forever family. But their compassion didn’t start with them. Anyone who knew their mom, Joyce, knows exactly where they learned it. Joyce lived a life of kindness, service, and unconditional love, and she raised her daughters to do the same. Helping others has never been something they did occasionally—it’s simply who they are.
Now, they need us.
The funds raised will help replace the stolen daycare van and ease some of the financial burden this family continues to face while Joni fights cancer. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings them one step closer to getting back on the road and continuing the work they’ve dedicated their lives to.
If you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser. And above all, please keep Joni, Jenifer, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
After a year filled with heartbreak, loss, and unimaginable challenges, let’s remind this incredible family that the community they’ve spent a lifetime building is here to lift them up.
