Help Replace Josh's Car Disabled Dad Barry Totaled

My husband Barry Bernstein, of almost 25 years, had a stroke in August 2017. He's disabled but working hard to get better. He passed the driving test in 2018 and had been driving since.

Our son Joshua Bernstein is a college freshman who's been doing great at school- made honor role the first semester! He's worked as a full-time State Lifeguard for the past 3 summers and will be Head Guard this year. He uses his earning to pay for college books and extras throughout the year.

In 2016, with his his first summer paycheck, he bought his 2005 Nissan Altima for cash. He had such pride in it and loved that car. He called it Liam Nissan - lol.

Josh's school doesn't allow freshmen to have their car on campus, so he left it home for Barry to drive.
Monday, Barry hit the gas instead of the break and slammed into a guardrail destroying the front, radiator, frame, and totaling the car. Luckily Barry was not hurt, however his drivers license was revoked for medical concerns until he can pass the driving test again.

Since Barry's been disabled, our financial and credit situation has been pretty dire. I tried to get loans, borrow against retirement, etc. but sadly I was turned down. I now have to ask for help to replace Josh's car so he can get to his work that starts in June.
Josh is such a good person. He works hard and is a kind and generous young man. Josh was more concerned about Barry and the financial hardship to us. He doesn't deserve this.
To pour more salt in the wound, my car (our only car now) is due for inspection this month and it has a $600 exhaust leak!
Thank you for any help you can give.
