Help Replace My Stolen Camera, My Job

Greetings,

My name is Tyler Griffin and I’m an 18-year-old photographer and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. I picked up a passion for filmmaking at age 13, and have developed and built it further into what will be my life’s career. Everywhere I go, I take my camera with me to capture the emotion of life to share it with those around me.

I’m currently in Berlin, Germany, and have been backpacking in Europe with two of my friends for two months and will continue to do so until the New Year. To my dismay, I set my camera down on a bench in a small park tonight to record, and unknowingly walked away from it. A couple moments later, after realizing it was gone, I went back to look for it and it had vanished without a trace.

This impacts my future directly, as the way that I make money comes directly through the camera in which I lost. I have used it for years on countless jobs to get me where I need to be, and to have a stable life for myself. Currently, I am only living off of inheritance money from my mother, who passed away in 2019, and planned to return to Los Angeles to continue making money for myself to begin driving, move out of the house, and to continue my career. Unfortunately, none of this is possible without a tool to carve me through those artistic endeavors.

I owned a Canon Rebel 6D Mark ii model, and attached was a Helios 44M-4 Russian lens, along with a Tiffen 52mm Black Pro-Mist 1/4 filter, with an M42-EOS adapter for the lenses. The camera also contained a leather strap (a gift received from a friend) with an exclusive pin embedded into it. This camera has lots of sentimental value due to these specifications and due to the fact that it’s traveled with me everywhere I’ve been for years on end.

Donating to help me purchase a replacement would help save my job and entire income, and would make it possible for me to continue pursuing my dreams as a filmmaker. One part of why I started making films was due to my mother’s illness; she had cancer since I was young and I wanted to show my world and everything I experienced to her before she passed, and I would very much find gratitude and well-being in continuing to document my life and others, for her.

Helping me would make the world feel so much bigger. Thank you so much for your time and high hopes,

-Tyler Griffin
