These are the ski boots many of you chipped in for when I turned 50. They are so beloved to me – they allow me to do something that heals me, teaches me, reminds me of magic and opens my heart. But they are also in need of replacement, and since I needed to replace a couple of teeth this year sadly boots are not in the budget.

They have given me so many days of joy over the past decade. I was wearing them when both the kids hiked the Highland Bowl for their first times (Emmet in 2016 at 9 and Suzannah in 2021 at 13 – on my birthday!)

In the winter I try to visit this sacred place often – where I go to be renewed in my soul purpose. And I bring you with me – and feel grateful for all of you with whom I share love and beauty, sweet and hard times, history, community – all of it.

Ahhh, these boots. There are cracks in the outer shell, the inner liner is fraying and the shin straps no longer hold (why does that all sound so familiar?) But regardless of cosmetic dings, I’M not retiring any time soon – I have a lot of skiing left in me! And when you live in a place where there are people like Klaus Obermeyer still skiing at 100 you just keep getting after it. I hope to ski as long as I possibly can, and while there is still snow in the winter!

I would be over the moon happy and thankful to bring you along for the next decade if you would like to chip in for the next pair to celebrate my 60th. Any amount is awesome – it’s the collective energy of beloved community that makes me feel so very blessed. Thank you deeply dear ones!
