Hello,

My name is Rachel. My siblings and I are creating this fundraiser for our wonderful, hard-working mother. Her income comes from selling frozen fish and seafood at local farmer's markets. She talks to customers dawn till dusk, 5 and 6 days a week, May to October. This year is her 25th year working at markets.

In 2022, she had a routine surgery where something with the intubation part didn't go right, and it damaged her voice to the extent that she can hardly speak. One would think this would sideline someone who works in sales, but that's not our mother. She struggled and pivoted, uses voice assist technology and microphones, in order to continue serving the customers in the job she loves.

But now, fate has dealt another severe crushing blow. On Friday before this past Mother's Day, Mom was driving to farmer's market like normal when there was a traffic accident. Luckily we still have Mom intact and in one piece, but her truck and all of her fish cargo and equipment has been lost. Her entire savings and livelihood gone in less than 10 seconds. Yes, she has insurance, but it's beginning to appear that the reimbursement is not going to even come close to replacing her beloved fish truck, Big Bill.

Mom has worked so hard all her life to get where she is and make sure we kids had everything. She has become a true wizard at making something out of nothing. We wish we could go out and buy her a brand-spanking new truck, but they cost $100,000-$150,000. We are asking if anyone can potentially help us make this come true for her, because she has certainly earned it.
