HELP REPLACE MEG'S EFFECTS EQUIPMENT
Donation protected
A good friend of mine, Meg Hoffman, works in special effects and recently had their car stolen. The car contained the entirety of their professional special effects/makeup equipment, as they are in the middle of the moving process at the moment. The car, luckily, can be covered by insurance. The equipment lost, however, cannot be.
This is a collection of equipment that Meg has spent 5 YEARS building from the ground up. There are personally constructed effects rigs, makeup palettes, brushes, squibs, etc. in the collection, and without these items, Meg cannot perform the day-to-day operation of their professional work. They have multiple upcoming shoots that they will not be able to work on without these things.
We are looking to raise $2,600 to replace the equipment as quickly as possible. This would not only cover the entirety of the equipment, but also any associated shipping and handling fees, taxes, etc. If you would like a more detailed breakdown of the cost, feel free to message me for more information.
If you work in the film industry, you know how horrible this would feel. Imagine having the ability to create your art taken from you. Imagine not being able to work on what you love because your tools were stolen from underneath you. We make things because we simply LOVE to. Meg works in special effects because they LOVE to. They have spent years building their equipment kit, even going so far as to personally build some of these rigs when they were still a teenager. And now they're gone.
Replacing them would not only allow Meg to fulfill the duties of their job, but it would give them the means to continue doing what they love doing. It would really mean a great deal if you could help them through this difficult experience!
